Photography: Turning the Ordinary into Extraordinary

Throughout Term 3, during lockdown, Year 9 Photographic and Digital Media students, had to ‘turn inwards’: to look at the everyday, ordinary things around them, and photograph them in such a way as to make them interesting and visually engaging.

Taking inspiration from iconic photographers such as Max Dupain, Olive Cotton, Jan Groover, Nigel Henderson, Abelardo Morrell, Tracey Moffatt and Cindy Sherman, the students explored themes including Selfies, Architecture, Childhood, Kitchen Drawer Stories, and Through the Window. The results: the ordinary becomes extraordinary!
