Sports at Schols
Everyone participates in sport at St Scholastica’s College. From intramural competition, to physical education classes, to team sports, to athletics and swimming - sport is enjoyed at all levels. We stress teamwork, sportsmanship, personal commitment, goal setting, and an appreciation for lifetime activity.
At our college, it's not about being the star. Our philosophy is that every girl should learn fitness for life. She should try many different sports in order to find something she likes and understand that being physically fit is essential to being a strong, healthy woman. We often find girls who excel in sports they have never tried before. Introducing everyone to many sporting opportunities is our goal. We educate girls to learn the games, inspire them to play with heart, and challenge them to make the most of their physical abilities.
Students play Saturday sport in competitions for netball, water polo and touch football. The College is a member of the Catholic Girls’ Secondary Schools Sporting Association and participates in gala days in a variety of sports including: touch football, netball, tennis, swimming, hockey, softball, water polo, athletics, cross country running, dance and gymnastics. Students train for these competitions both during and outside the school day. All students are encouraged to participate in the College’s swimming and athletics and carnivals held each year in February and June respectively.
